A Message To Every Girl: Change Your Perspective, Not Yourself

The media is focused on impressing rather than progressing

Showing women as a common household ite found in the drawer to the rigt

Spreading you out thin with a rolling pin

As skinny as your spatula , the one you never use

Because your trying to lose,

Lose the pounds that have been put on you by the burdens of numbers

Numbers that put you into categories in which otherwise you would not fit

Beauty and intelligece compacted into a simple number

Two things our society calls "important"

We are nothing but victims of society's harsh standards,

The standards that no one fits unless touched up with photo shop or tangled with tutors

Our definitions are false

Intelligence and beauty are nealy the same

We are not restricted to just one

Intelligence does not just mean a high ACT score or a decent GPA

Beauty does not just mean size 0 and long luscious hair

So why dont we close the doors to these expectations

Because they have yet to be reached by any human being
