Meaningless Words

Words are meaningless
but yet we continue to use them
We’ve supposedly created languages
in order to distinguish one another’s ideas

Words are meaningless
because we continue to use them
even though we’re just hearing
one another’s ideas instead of listening

Words are meaningless
and still we continue to use them
Supposed attempts at communication
   Halfhearted efforts to absorb information

Words are meaningless
I say this and yet I continue to use them
In one last hope that
I can make you listen to my ideas

Words are meaningless
we shouldn’t need to continue to use them
Though I feel universal languages
   have been forever forgotten
