Melodies and long forgotten tunes

dance through the vast regions of my mind. 

A single line of a single song is chosen to be replayed

a thousand times until something else comes along.

I hum the notes to a joyous rhythm for I have forgotten the words.

The words are gone, yet the importance of the tune

touches my soul and lifts my heart as hum the simple strain.

The joy I feel may in fact be sorrow from a different point of view.

Each assemblage of verse that is set to song has a

diverse significance for each individual on Earth.
