A Matter of Identity

Location

I do not know who I am

I do not know what I seek

I do not know which is which

I have many faces

Approached by those who misguided me

Approached by crowds screaming

Approached by anger, hatred, darkness

I have many faces

No one sees the face of mind

Everyone sees the face of naivete

Some see the face of kind

I have many faces

Without a hand to hold

Without reins to control

Without a light to guide me home

I have many faces

I have a face for happiness

I have a face that lets me rest

I have a face that guides me, yet

I have many more faces

No true hand to let me take hold

A curtain in which my true self will never behold
