Math And Dragons
Math.
A family of dragons.
Vehement, venomous, and vicious
Pre-Algebra, the baby dragon
The dragon associated with rudimentary equations and expressions.
Algebra, the child dragon
The dragon that is more imposing and intimidating than the mathematical infant.
The Geometry Dragon, for some mysterious reason, has to be faced before the eldest of the Algebra siblings.
The Geometry dragon, complex and sticks with shapes.
The Algebra 2 dragon, the craftiest, the most malicious, of its younger siblings.
And then there are the dragons I have not encountered yet.
Alas, I do not possess the aptitude for defeating mathematical beasts
Though I hear they are quite brutal and boil brains.
We are knights, tasked with slaying these dragons
Our pencil and our knowledge is our sword
Our calculator and a formula sheet our shield.
The armor we wear, unique to every knight.
We all wear penetrable armor
All knights have their various weaknesses.
The dragons: sly, surreptitious, scaly serpents.
Truly, tricky,terrifying creatures
Some knights decisively defeat these dragons.
Others risk being burnt by the bold, brazen breath of these ruthless reptiles.
A multitude, plethora of skills
Need to be learnt
To successfully slay these mathematical monstrosities.
Equations, formulas, graphs, conversions, calculations
A few of the crucial skills that need to be learnt.
The solving steps to the solution
Aids in the defeat of the unyielding, unfriendly, dragons.
Of course, all knights require a leader knight.
One who is experienced in slaying such serpents.
Years of memorization and training are indispensable
In battle against the family of merciless, math monsters
Some will slay, others will survive, and some will be slayed
No matter the circumstances, all will face the formidable foes at least once.
