Material Dream

You look me in my eyes then turn away again,

You walk to another and with each step, goes a friend.

I know not the desires of the world in my meeting you,

But I do know you intoxicate me with your poison fumes.

My mind floods with thoughts, memories of this, masochistic it may seem,

Even as I sleep, your absence is present though you appear in every dream.

My lungs fill to capacity not of air but of your love,

That fuels my life and brings peace to my white dove.

In your eyes, the reflection of future lies,

I, sitting by your side in this image, content, all dreams materialized.
