Masks

Tue, 04/15/2014 - 13:01 -- Jay_M
I am a shadow,
Unseen, invisible.
A mask of gray,
When I'm afraid

I am a clown,
Laughable, hilarious.
A mask of fun,
When I'm unsure.

I am an angel,
Perfect, untouchable.
A mask of light,
When I'm afraid.

I am a fireball,
Touchy, hair-trigger.
A mask of rage,
When I'm sad.

I am a butterfly,
Rapid, beautiful.
A mask of glitter,
When I'm hurt.

I am a statue,
Unmovable, still.
A mask of stone,
When I'm annoyed.

I am crying out,
Trapped, caged.
Behind the masks,
I'm too afraid to lose.

I am begging,
Free me, unchain me.
Love me for myself,
Look behind my masks
