Mask

These feeling all around me;

Fear,

Guilt,

Anxiety.

I can't escape it,

As it presses down on me like a rushing wind.

I try and fight this suffering,

It is too strong for me.

It has taken over me completely.

What will protect me

But to wear this mask.

I wear this mask

Not to conceal,

But to reveal

Safety,

Courage,

Confidence.

I want you to see me,

The real me who hides behind this mask.

But how can I show you the real me that I see,

The me without this material facade

Without freeing these feelings all around me.
