Marceline's Song

Don't think of me as your hero

Some savior who does no wrong

I am your worst enemy

My words, said as a frivilous joke

Peirce deep

You need to know I'm not right

I project my doubts and self hate

Onto the closest subject

It just happens to be you

Talking was never my strong suit

That suit is in tatters, sir

I'm not a seamster

Don't look to me for approval

I am incapable of giving that

I have none of it myself,

How would I give what I don't have?

I have nothing you want

Why do you keep coming back

Don't be that kid wanting to be abused

Because they "deserve it"

Pity never looked good on you

I am not your friends

Complimenting you on every breath

Life is dragging me by the hand

Trying to get me to move

Budging would mean the unknown

I'm fine by the starting line

Watching you pass me

My words mean nothing, sir

Pay me no heed

Harm was never my intention,

Bubblegum
