Black is the color of a heart so cold
that will someday stop and turn into mold.
It is the color of sweat on a killer's face,
the disappointment and anger of losing a race.
Black is the color of a death too soon,
the soft, sad cry of a morning loon.
It is the sadness of a lonely wife,
when her husband goes out and loses his life.
Black is the color of disrespect,
a child who suffers from sorrow and neglect.
It is the color of darkness so drear,
the feeling I get when you are no longer near.
