Make you Honest

Location

The ease with which you look me in the eye

Speak your words

Tell your lies

Stirs contempt within my mind.

I cannot change who you are

How you think

What you feel.

But if I could change anything in the world,

I would stop your lies.

They invade your speech

Brand you weak

Make me hate you

You remind me of a leech.

It’s corny I know,

But when you lie you are a no better

Than a bloodsucking worm.

Stealing my trust,

Weakening my resolve.

It is a dangerous game…

You must watch your steps

Catch your words

Mark your breaths.

It just seems so complicated.

If I could change the world,

I would make you honest.
