Id love to be a mainstream writer 

then maybe id be more liked 

and people would think im more wise 

and they would be more moved by my words 

and maybe then theyd hear me screaming 

instead of watching me silently wail 

while in the comfort of their cushy car 

down maine.

 

Id like to be a mainstream writer 

then i could sympathise with topics that habe had too many talks

the ones that everyone seems to think about

perhaps im careless and foolish 

and dont feel the way i should 

so i abuse the ways i was raised 

and find it pitiful the way others speak.

 

id be ok with being a mainstream writer

ill have a sea of thoughts 

allways becoming inspired

by the wars others fought 

id have a few followers 

a group of people to follow 

and my way is already paved.

 

id rather be myself 

through thick and thin

and all of the pain 

and this entire existence that seems to contradict them all

my soul 

my thoughts 

my body 

and im ok with that

im actually fine 

no use in fighting a dead horse

or kicking a bucket

for id rather be me than a mainstream tagline.
