Magic

It's almost like magic really

how one look into her eyes can fill something in me I didn't know was empty

how her touch reaches much deeper than my skin

how her voice hypnotizes me, aching to hear the music of her voice

because I love her

how her smile can't possibly be from this universe

how her freckles were designed to make my heart stop

how when we kiss, our souls dance

because she loves me

how she doesn't want me to spend time with my friends

how she wants to watch movies in her basement instead

how when I ask her why I can't see them, she says

"because, don't you love me?"

how I let her search through my phone. every. time. I. see. her.

how I let her run my social life

how I can't complain about any of this

because I love her. right?

how she's allowed to hit me because I'm the guy

how she can decide my future

how I'm not allowed to like certain things

because...

how I tell her I'm not happy

how I tell her maybe we should take a break

how she can turn me into the bad guy

because I'm supposed to love her

how her kiss feels like torture

how I think we should go our separate ways

how when she asks why I respond

"because, don't you love me?"

how without her I can be myself again

how I no longer need her to feel complete

how I can finally be happy again

because I love me

just like magic right?
