A Madman's Rendition Of A Cosmic Event

I know it may be a little soon

To say that you make me crazy,

Well I already was, but even more

So now than ever, I feel like it'll be different

Than before. No longer reaching for a star

Or crouching down to lift someone from the dark,

We are able to walk together on common ground,

Equally pressing forward under the sun,

Equally standing guard under the moon,

Which watches as the world turns on itself.

Starved of comfort it shrieks quietly.

Oh how violent are the lives of silent,

I know because I was such a person

And I still hold the title in some respect;

And you, likewise contain the noise,

But I ask you today, can I hear your voice?

This is the part where I'm supposed

To tell you how beautiful you are,

But you already know that

And I don't wanna waste your time.

What you don't know is what it does

To me, a sad sap for a smile;

Yours is a cosmic event

That causes the roses in your cheeks to bloom,

To see such a sight makes my foolishness worthwhile.

I say all this for you to be certain

That my hand is stretched out for you

And not another,

So be at peace,

Take it and if you will,

Walk with me.
