The words swirl around in my head,

Always unable to speak them aloud,

Never able to look you in the eye and say what I mean,

So I take out my pen and I hope that you understand.

I write down the lyrical words,

That flow so easily from my ballpoint,

I see the beautiful swirl of blue as my thoughts spill onto the page,

It's my sanctuary from the world,

My safety net for when I'm lost,

And my reminder to stay humble once I'm found.

My life is told in these lyrical ways,

Smoothly being read from paper what I would have struggled without it.
