You and I
We’re as simple and as complicated as the concept of math
I couldn’t tell that this was a difficult equation
We could not evade it
From 1+1 = 2
To 2x - 13y = What?, Fuck it
We don’t have an answer sheet for this one
We cannot correct our problems after we’ve made them
The best we can do is play the game and claim it to be true
It won’t be this easy
You’re a stat, create the problem
I’m a fact, I’ll find the answer
One in the same
A difference once again
An addition, where we both win
A division, where we both lose
Either way we’re the ones that have to choose
Make a good decision
We refuse to find the right solution
We drag on with confusion in our heads
The reality sinks in and all we see is dread in this bed
The familiar sting in our hearts
That cramped up feeling inside
That amped up emotion called pride
These feelings are completely off the charts
Or this linear graph of love
In the end, we haven’t grasped the gravity of this situation
It is time to evaluate and finally complete this investigation

Do we stay together
Or do we prefer to grow apart

Give arithmetic a purpose, and let it be used in the proper context
