A Lover's Letter

A handwritten note from one lover to another

One letter entrusted with honest feelings shown

This piece of paper forgotten from a past December

Now floats on the wind towards the unknown

Crumbling paper drifting through the air becoming dust

Traveling past mountains with forests so green and lush

Being carried by the wind with a single helping gust

Passing by windows where inside children's mothers whisper hush

Through deserts with scalding and golden sand

Past oceans with beautiful creatures in the water lie

Over plains of fruits and vegetables on southern land

And cities with buildings whose tops reach the sky

As the time passes one lover is begging for an answer

Anything to prove her letter was sent and discovered

The other lover is kept waiting through another December

As a letter floats through his window and is uncovered
