Lover (questions)

I used up ever metaphor
My measly brain could muster
To tell her that she's pretty cute
And that I really love her
Does it matter that we've never kissed
And that I've rarely touched her
I could probably count on one hand
The amount of times I've hugged her
But I claim to love her
But I haven't touched her
But I claim to love her
Does this matter to a lover?
I've never met her brother
I've barely seen her mother
We hang out all the time
Just never with each other
She did that favor for me once
I wrote her lots of poetry
But everything I  know of her
I learned about in chemistry
But I claim to love her
But I haven't known her
But I claim to love her
Does this matter to a lover?
I'm sure she'd cried a lot
From when we met until today
I'm sure she's smiled plenty
And she's had some awesome days
I know she likes to laugh
The lines are on her face
I haven't caused the smile, the laughter or, the pain
I'm nowhere in her life and it's always been that way
But I claim to love her
But I'm far from her
But I claim to love her
Does this matter to a lover?
How I long to touch her
How I long to know her
How I long to close the gap
And really truly love her
To do all the little things
That matter to a lover
Because in the end
I want my love to matter to her
