LOVE LIKE THORNS AND ROSES
Love like Thornes and Roses
Vera her mother called her,
Her beauty so pure yet no man has ever managed to posses her.
I asked a man whose watched her grow up why her hearts still on the shelf,
He laughed lightly as he said the boys round here are full of fear and so should you.
I know you want her just bear in mind her mama’s wild and crazy, taught her daughter to drink whiskey and rye,
At a very tender age when her papa lost it and chose to die.
That’s why the boys round here say a love like hers is a love like Thornes and roses,
You can’t love her till you’re crazy enough to get along with her mama,
And boy I ain’t trying to scare you, but hers mama’s the definition of karma.
Whatever you do to her daughter she does to your life,
That’s why say a love like hers is like a love of Thornes and roses
So you best think twice before you take her for a wife.
Because it ain’t gona be as easy as selfies and poses.
A love like hers is a love like Thornes and roses.
I turned around in an effort to walk away so bad.
Having seen this he said now run along little lad,
I know your heart tinkers when you see her smile,
But a love like hers is a love like thornes and Roses even for a littles while.
But boy I fell in so deep my mind couldn’t think,
When I heard her speak I lost it all so I grabbed her hand and risked it all,
Caressed her softly as we, kissed and slow danced underneath the moonlight to that Louisiana jam.
A love like hers is a love like Thornes and roses That old man warned me but I just couldn’t listen that old egg.
To those who say love conquers all you ain’t never had a love like thornes and roses.
I fell in too deep her hand in marriage cost a limb and a leg,
I sit in a wheel chair with stitches in my limbs and a single leg a little wedding present my mother in-law,
Wondering how a love like hers turned into a love like thornes and roses after all.
