Love Does Not

Love does not cause pain

Love does not make you cry until you feel the thumping of your veins

Love does not call you out of your name

Or tells you, you are stupid when things do not go their way

Love does not cause you to drain

Love does not pull you by your hair and calls you a mistake

Love does not leave bruises on your face

Love does not make you feel afraid

Love does not watch you cover up the bruises they have inflicted

And tell you that everything will be okay

Listen to me when I say that love,

It is one of the most precious gifts ever given to man

But due to past experiences

I know that you might not understand

That love,

Love is patient

Love is kind

Love does not envy nor boast

Love does not harm you emotionally or physically

Love does not give off the perception that everyone you encounter will neglect you

Love does not tear you apart

And leave you stitching up the open holes

Love does not add on to your worries

In fact love takes away from the problems that are flowing

You are stronger than he has led you on to be

Do not let the toxic from past relationships

Taint the image of a love so heaven sent

Because love,

Love is everlasting

And if you can't raise a man

Then you can't teach him to love you without there being any toxins
