Love

My love is like a rose

When given, it works like magic

Beautiful and bloomed

But when it dies, my love becomes tragic

Heart broken and misspoken

Feelings set aside

Feelings that are all to familiar and painful

So I choose to tuck them deep inside

Scared to open up

To afraid to be let down or pushed away

So I find material things to give my love to

Because I know they’ll never leave, or have anything negative to say

So afraid to share my love

But once attached, afraid to let go

One could shatter my heart to pieces

Yet I’ll give them the world and they’ll never know

My love is like a rose

Beautifully flawed and imperfected

Yet many will never experience it

Because my biggest fear is being rejected
