Lotus

There lies a little lotus

balanced on the water’s face,

while her roots become

displaced and dragged

under the water’s blue surface.

Floating near tall cranes

sends quick fish to stir up the earth,

as small pebbles fly

below the water,

they are unseen by a child’s gaze.

Beyond the hills

a cricket sings in the distance

and an ant carries large crumbs

by the callings of life,

which made the waters still.
