Lost At Sea

I see the morning's ocean, vast, and wild,

A million things could happen, but I am no child.

The salt is satisfyingly everywhere

Reminding me of the fair

Mannered place,

Where everyone knew what to chase.

Dreams, passions, desires and more

It seemed I was the one who yearned for the shore

To explore, to discover, to be afraid

I want to know for this is my youth's crusade!

A million things are waiting out there,

On the open ocean caught calm and unaware.

But straight ahead

Is what others dread,

An ocean in a tempest,

Dark and endless.

But still I plough on,

Refusing to sail to the safety of the dawn.

I may not know where the sea will take me,

But all that matters is that I'm free,

Even if this great tsunami will be the death of me.
