Lost Cause, Found
They say it’s too late
Why didn’t you speak out sooner?
Well sometimes it takes a while to realize our truths
And when they finally come into clarity
They choke us up
Sticking like honey to the roofs of our mouths
Resisting becoming part of reality
But resilience prevails and when we speak out
The words sting like a bee
Truth coursing through the veins of society
People reacting like a wasp nest attacked
Or like flowers finally allowed to bloom
They say the change came too late
We say, we’re just getting started
