Longing

Location

Longing

Desire

Yearing

Longing

The expression in my eyes when I see your picture

The feeling of your hand in mine

Even though it's empty

Longing

I hear it in the music

Feel the notes hit me

It comes from the inside

Then pulls outward till

The others can see it

Longing

My heart srings resonate

My shoulders hunch

My eyes burn

The others can see it

Take ahold of me

Longing

It's the desire for one voice, and for silence

A yearning for recognition, and to be hidden

Longing for you, but knowing I can't reach you

It's hearing the hymn they sing

Feeling the texture of the flag

Tasting the salt tears on my face

Seeing everyong dressed in black

Longing

The shots ring out

Once, twice, thrice

Then it's done

Irrevocable heartbreak

The feeling of desiring hope

Yearning for one last moment

But knowing you will never come back

Longing

You went to the field

Left me for your country

Left me with nothing else

But longing
