The long lost General
It must have been said
Or so I have heard
If you only do what you can do you will never be more than you are
So I must learn to do the impossible if I wish to go far
Lord forgive me I’m merely a man
destined to carry the world on his shoulders
Be patient with me if i seem to lose faith
It is merely because my knees wobble under this burden’s weight
Please believe me i’m genuinely lost
groping in the dark in search of my soldiers
They must have abandoned me doubting my ability to lead
Their confidence shaken, by my inability to meet their every need
Time is an enemy, despair is at home
the battle’s begun yet I stand here alone
If I do not find them, If I do not lead them
We will all perish, i must find them
So i must find myself
I must find my faith
I must help them find theirs
And we must win the war
But till then i remain
The long lost general
