Lonely Winter Night

The snow falls,

White and clear

Go to a place where I disappear.

The fangs of night,

With no delight,

Bite through my mind like a sonic cry.

Take a long look,

Straight up to the sky

And wonder where she is tonight.

The pains of love,

So hard to find,

Cross my heart and hope to die.

I go from cold to numb, to the other side.

Dawn will come,

Still too numb,

Singing songs that take me home.

Sharpening knives on a lifeless gun.

Missing you,

See what it does,

Leaving me back out in the cold.

Rise so high,

To fall so low.

Take another life too slow.

Out in the winter's night

The power of God on my side.

Listen to the sirens' scream

In this frozen winter dream.

The clouds have cleared,

To welcome the sun,

A brighter day than the last one.

Too much pain,

Still to feel,

Gone with the wind I scream for you.

Brightest days,

Darkest nights,

Passion and pain, or numb tonight?

Too far above,

The pain is not,

But I can't feel with this broken heart.

Look me right in the eyes.

Tell me that the sun will rise.

Be my darkness in the light

On this lonely winter night.
