On the Lonely Sea

Sun, 07/14/2013 - 18:19 -- Beth

I am a ship

on the lonely sea

seeking safe harbor,

a shelter for me.

There is a place I've stopped before

and where I long to be once more.

But no longer am I welcome here.

He loves me no more I fear.

That one has a comfort been.

In vain I plead, "Oh let me in!"

But I never have been welcome here.

We are merely friends my dear.

This new port is full of fun,

and so I play here, hit and run...

But I am always welcome here,

Though it can lead to naught but tears.

Here are many with what I need,

but my captain will not heed.

So though I would be welcome here,

I am not brought unto the pier.

WIthout a port to call my own,

I still float on the sea, alone.
