A Locked Heart

A locked heart,

Chained inside.

Fearful of injury,

It wants to hide.

Imminent pain gets stronger,

Day by day,

Searching for happiness,

It seems astray.

Life looks hopeless,

Darkness overwhelms.

Light seems to dim,

As the tunnel closes.

Locked inside,

We hide from love.

Trapped within

Heart forever locked.
