to live in die in ny
where brother is trying to fatten their pockets
brothers is hustling for cash
it's hard to knock them
everybody is doing their own thing
keeping their heads above water
and make sure they don't drown
from all the jealous envy and rage
going through hard times worry in faces
shed tears to those close to heart
what was a friend
is a ghost in the dark
that can cast evil thoughts to your heart if you allow it
get smoke by a reckless fiend who shatters a broken man's dream
a hard lesson
court cases
keep guessing
plea bargain is no longer an option
no reason to no longer be stress
it costs more to be free than life in the pin
making more money just by exorcising curse words
learn how to think ahead
and be two steps ahead of everybody else
its that the way to really live
in this day in age, its normative
nobody doesn't want to see beyond one surroundings
yet the cycle of violence rages on like transformers fighting in cybertron
to live and die in ny
is where it all started

its the city that never sleeps
in constant danger
in ny, can't get no stranger
full of drama like a soap opera
but live, up close and personal
watching the ghetto birds fly away
where i observe
too many clowns getting three strikes
heading back to a cage
where it symbolizes no freedom
for them, that's home
for me, it's about living life
the way i know how to live
i smile
i don't write to people when they ask for pictures
i live in ny that's full of fun and women
better learn the code ethics of life and death
stop biting off everything and you will be alright
i love ny like i love women
every dude in ny want to be a thug
just need to relax and get a hug
we may argue amongst each other
but at the end, its about seeing the bigger picture
to live and die in ny

walking through the bronx
see people of all
never standing tall
laid out flat on the floor
with a corona on one hand
and a bogie on the other
traveling through 3rd avenue
see gangs of all color
waving their flags
showing off their pride
but in all reality, they are cowards in which all they do is hide
have no business being in the hood
i'm definitely not in any mood
to start any trouble
always remember
keep your friends close
but keep your enemies closer
to live and die in ny
