Little eyes, Asian eyes

Little eyes, Asian eyes

I didn't know the window to my soul

Told such lies

Not on the whole

These eyes of mine are small

Yes, but that's not me

Assumptions from all

On who I must be

Based on a stereotype

That no one can follow

I am not ripe

For the picking, not hollow

Because I'm not beautiful

For these looking glasses

Just as they're not unsuitable

As Asian lasses

Because of their race

Look at me - white

And them - pale or dark as a vase

But oh, how we all fright

Those who want to put us in a box

We don't belong in a cage

You can't interrupt our talks

Because you fly into a rage

When a woman, when an Asian cries

Look at us.

You can't stop the rise

Because of your mistrust

I am caucasian

I have small eyes

They are Asian

I am one, but we are big in size

Because anyone can listen

But not many can stand

To fight the division

By reaching out a hand
