For Lillian

Tue, 04/05/2016 - 15:16 -- kevboat

We're a pair of mismatched socks
orange and blue
contrasting, complimentary colors.

We're a pair of hopeless kids.
We don't have a chance, yet here we are trying to make our places in the world.
I respect you so much and want the best for you.

I just wish I could be less of an emotional burden.
I guess that’s what big sisters do,
make sure their little brothers make it.

This poem is about:
Me
My family
