This fire that burns
From my soul within
Finds a way outwards
Through my favorite pen

This is the way
My hopes and dreams
Escape my beating heart
Breaking all the seams

And when I’m all alone
The fresh paper feel
All my broken thoughts
Begin to slowly heal

Some believe that solitude
Makes you feel much worse
But I prefer an old notebook
To any pretty purse

While some may think a hobby
Or just a boring line
Writing is a lifestyle
That always will be mine
