Light's Out

It starts with a ball of light

So small and bright, full of life.

Until, one fateful night,

I came around with my laptop

and started snuffing out those lights.

One by one,

as my finger stuck the keys,

an idea lie dead in a ink puddle of dread.

Here I was having fun,

killing and birthing ideas,

when my laptop sputters and fades to a black screen.

Panic grips me as I lunge for the cord.

How could I continue?

How could I write?

How could I listen to music and look up information?

This mustn't be allowed!

Stumbling with a shaking hand

fingers wrap around the cord.

Take a deep breath,

the laptop is saved.

Now for the characters...
