The Lighthouse

A year nearly, lost at sea

The captain turns the hour glass

Marking another day

The crew’s all gone, Left long ago

Another day, another page

Another mad scribble in the captain’s log

He sees no hope, madness is near

He hears a song, a sweet melody

He remembers his home

Left long ago, to seek new shores

A flicker of light ahead catches his eye

He gives a quiet laugh

Another storm he is sure,

To send him to the deep

Another light, this one brighter,

Illuminates his ship

Suddenly from the mist he sees,

The cure to his madness

His disease.

A light house gives him hope

He’s not there yet, but has no fear

For in the future, harbor is near
