Light versus Lies

To all the downtrodden,

overlooked, or forgotten:

You’re not alone—never!

And though I’m not clever,

I know there is Someone

who like light from the sun

is warm, kind, and loving

and is constantly tugging,

on stiff, knotty heartstrings

that need a good plucking

to make their music again.

Don’t listen to those men!

You know, those who say:

Suffering is the natural way

of this random-chance earth

that competes in the dearth

of space to build each life;

driven by pain, full of strife.

If only the fittest get ahead,

then you. should. be. dead.

That is what the world says.

But I say live, enjoy the days

you’ve been graciously given

like sneak peeks of Heaven

by the One who sees hearts

and all the innermost parts;

and cares for the forgotten,

the children He’s begotten;

and wants. to. save. your. life.
