A Light Lit

The sound of the wind in the trees
used to make me sway,
and the sound of the waves on the rocks,
reaching their crest upon the top
used to make me smile,
but no more.

The sun that shown high above me
while I walked is no more,
the moon that let its face smile
upon my sleeping face has left,
leaving me alone,
in the darkness.

But in my darkest hour
someone lit a light for me to see,
a way out,
an escape
from the perpetural dungeon
in which I was trapped.

And now I am free.
Free to be whoever I want to be.
Free.
