Light

I sit here and I think

about what to write,

Remembering how you lit up

my world so bright.

But you didn't,

there was no halo above your head,

there was only

the illuminated words you said.

That made it look

like you were my knight.

Actually you just

set my world a light.

I watched as my world

lit a flame.

Since then I haven't

been the same.

I'm pulled like a string.

Too long, it's abuse.

you told me to hold on,

Just for you to light the fuse

You've ripped me up, and tore me to shreds

you say "it's all with good intent."

sorry I cant take anymore

You'll never see me at your door.
