Life's Journey

As a  little boy, I never thought of dreams,

I guess  I  knew my  life would  magically  beam.

I never thought I was smart enough to make it  out,

I  guess I thought  I'd  learn things  just straying about.

I met  all the wrong friends and  got myself in all sorts  of binds,

Only the Lord could  free me from those kinds.

As I went through life,  I realized that I  was  smart and life had purpose,

I guess all good things  ly underneath the surface.

I was a buried  treasure just waiting  to  be picked,

All the while still battling conflict.

Is there more to  me than meets the eye.

Lord! Please show me the  path  you want me  to take,

I pray I don't forsake.

Lead me, guide me through life's auditions,

Hopefully through these test springs ambition.
