Life as I see it

The thrills of life kills many things
it helps old wounds continually bleed,
Those scars others call badges of honor
never seem to fade.

But all life's complications are all self made.

Time can turn flames to embers
or washes away the pain
the joy, pain, agony, happiness lives in your soul
and pumps through every vein.

Each day creates a new chapter in your life
and each new adventure a new story.

Experience is there to wizen you and make sure you regret the start of the struggle
but ends in glory

The darkness seems to erode me to shadows
the light begins to dim

And through all my struggles
I never get to win

I may win the battles but never the war
my wounds leave me scared and sore

Daily drama colors my life from reds to purples and orange and white
but both future and past all seem to fade to black

Although the present isn't always pleasant
it helps create the joy I lack

But a light sheared the dark
my heart you did mark
a seed of happiness you did grow
now I shine and glow

My pain you did help hold
now my heart is no longer cold

You put a smile on my face
your warm happiness my soul did embrace
you shunned away the darkness
and chased away the night

With all the shadows gone
I can finally see the light
and for my happiness you'll fight with all your might
to make sure life's joys stays in my sight

I deeply thank you for giving me reasons to live
and all my love to you is all my gratitude can give
