Life of High School

Growing up in high school is a little like a bad episode of “The Hills”
Petty arguments, “he-said she-said” gossip and tragic breakups
My bike became a car
Birthdays became drunken parties
Boys lost their cooties
And being popular is the only thing that you really want
Freshman year was scary and short
Running from class to class trying not to be late
Choir was who I was
No life outside of singing
Sophomore year was a little less long
But still trying to give my 110%
I tried out for dance
And next thing you know I was “in training” to become a dazzler
Now it’s junior year and kind lazy
Trying my best still with no recognition
Practice every day, but some of my closest friends and best memories
Come from inside that dance room
I’ve waited for three years it’s senior year and it couldn’t be longer
You stroll to class without a care in the world
Waiting for prom and the infamous senior skip day
Busier than ever but it’s so worth it
Spring Show, Graduation, and College plans
Couldn’t be better
The teachers are great and the friends are memorable
It’s been a long and challenging journey
To get to the end, but holding that diploma
Will make everything worthwhile
High School really is the best years of your life
