The Life of a Doll

So pretty and lovely

Like daisies and teacups

So dead and emotionless

Like corpses and pearls

What are you?

Smiling prettily at an ever-changing

world from unreachable distances,

with what appears to be fondness

Staring unchangingly into the lives

of their admirers remaining

untouchable

Standing like Venus with only one

expression, forever silent

Opulent-graceful, nothing out of place.

Show nothing but smiles and happiness

Be nothing but what others see

Too pretty and lovely

Daisies and teacups are loved

Too dead and emotionless

Corpses and pearls are loved

You are a doll, stuck in an unloving world

Seems that everyone has forgotten that you were also human.
