Liberation
Liberation
Poetry is freedom
Because it gives me the wings to be fly and be whatever I have ever thought to be and do the impossible with ease style and grace
With poetry I can warp curve and bend
Float like a gust of wind
Better yet
like a butterfly
and
Sting like a bee
Wrestle alligators
Tussle with whales handcuff lightning and throw thunder in jail
Sail into the atmosphere and
space travel into the great beyond
Beyond myself
Something quite mind unraveling
Even time travel too
That’s how I got it on with Sarah Vaughan and gave Ella Fitz
And drank wine with Ethiopian kings at the same time a cross between
Clark Kent and Superman
Peter Parker and Taharka
Black Jesus of Nazareth married to Mary but still underground like Harriet
With the Ghost Rider and Roman chariots
Toussaint L’ Overture and Leo Tolstoy
Schoolboy by day
Rocky boy by night
A superhero
Crime fighter
Electric light
Whenever ConEdison con artists cut my lights off and I’m forced to write in the dark
With
Rats in the front room and roaches in the back
That's liberation
I don’t have to care nothing about what another nigga think
Button up my top button
Tuck in my shirt
or
Watch my fucking language
I can raise hell
however the hell I want
And be
A true social deviant
Renegade rebel
Handsome disco devil
Without a burner
NOTORIOUS
Known for kicking in doors
The B.I.G Bruce Lee Roy boy breaking all the rules
I can be bop
Hip- hop
And hop trains without getting caught
And lamp on the subway all by way of a poem that may be
A
Maybach
Beamer
Benz
or
Bentley
A hot meal and or a house on the hill with a bank roll full of Benjamin bills
Because of poetry
I am not a prisoner but a shooting
Star
Stepper
Not a leper or a lame
But the world’s most famous
Agent K
