Leverage

The ice in her irises pierce through white.

There's a wail; a cry, and the ice catches light.

A soft gurgle, then a hand goes slack,

And she sobs. vulnerable. taking curses back.

An infant vessel lost to the world of man

hands my soul to one unworthy.

Akin and yet, not at all:

An obvious source of unnoticeable leverage.
