Dear Jose,

I may have not met you, but I know you

The things I was told by family you made blue

You left my mother with me & five others

All alone struggling to find supper

You called one day, asking if I was thirteen

But as I remember, I was somewhere between

Eighteen & twenty, already grown & working on my own

You were shocked & asked for money to loan

Since I knew better the answer was no

You want me to meet you, but I won’t go

To see a stranger who I can’t recognize

& to hear nothing but misleading lies

Hopefully in the middle you’ll meet me one day

So we won’t need to be this far away

That is all I really ask for & nothing more

But if you pass, who knows if I’ll mourn

Sorry if this makes you sad

I just wanted to say Love You Dad.

                                                                                                                        Sincerely your son,

                                                                                                            Christian Garcia-Hernandez
