A letter to anyone struggling

This is a song for the broken-hearted

Who’s lives were ended before they had started

Shuffling through your schedule

Your eyes are empty and your brain is full

Of all these thoughts

That you’d really ought

To give up.

This is a song for the broken-hearted

Who wish that they had their lives charted

Uncertain of where the next step may lead

It’s all they have not to plead

Not to cry, not to bleed

Not to listen to the voices telling them to give up

This is a song for the broken-hearted

For the people whose thoughts have darted

Just out of reach

And they can’t breach

The precipice of their own mind

Trying desperately to bind

Words and fragments into phrases

Spending their days in hazes

All they can hear is the voice telling them to give up

My heart goes out to all of the hurting

All of those who spend their free time flirting

With death, and hate

Who subjugate

Themselves to their alien fears

Broken nightmares

Don’t worry my dears

I promise that you are not broken

Listen to the words I have spoken

You deserve to shine like the sun

Know that you have won

You’ve beaten your demons so far.

Please. Never give up.
