A boy of eight was I on that fateful day,

When sweet sounds of music drew children near.

Joy filled our souls as the piper did play.

Across the wild lands we passed with no fear.

The hills grew tall and the music faint.

My heart was strong, but darkness plagued me.

Other children followed without my restraint,

The piper as he used his magic key.

If sight had I, the hills I'd now brave,

To find the door, from which the piper came,

And my classmates whom the piper did save.

Yet I'm with those who assign me the blame.

No entry saw I to the land of my dreams.

No sight and no peers, I'm worthless it seems.
