Learning To Skateboard

Learning To Skateboard

Ready, set, fall

On your face, not your feet

I know it’s not graceful

But you ought to be grateful

Because sometimes, asphalt is all we have to eat

Ready, set, get up

On your board, and skate until your bones break or the sun sets

(Whatever comes first)

I know It’s not nimble

But let it be a symbol

Of how you carry yourself through life

Ready, set, glide

Through the streets, kickflips and cool tricks as you ride

I know now it comes easy

But don’t let that stop you from

Helping someone else who still needs to try
