The Last Year

Senior year

Senior year

They expect so much

     yet instruct so little.

Applications due.

Grades improved.

Late nights at work.

But it will soon all be a memory.

Cherish every moment

Because once the realization hits

That this is the last time for it all

You won't be longing for it to end.

Our generation is stepping up.

The world is shaping itself for us.

But are we ready?

Are we shaping ourselves for success

or are we just another element of destruction?

Take the time

Take the time to be influenced by the good

and not bogged down by the bad.

Be soft

But don't be pliable.

Focus your heart on the good

Because there is so much good in the world.

I refuse to be influenced by the negativity of the world

And if I can't find any good

Then I will be the good.
