My name is Maddy Lewis. I started Learning American sign language a couple of months ago and fell in love with it. Discovering the Deaf Community has opened my eyes to a new perspective on life, and learning ASL is a new, yet excuberating challenge, my Poem "langauge" expresses my frustrations in journey.

Long nights and spent hours of time

staring at my laptop screen.

I found my love; my love is language, and this language is Sign.

My signs are sloppy,

I communicate slow,

but when I use my second language

my cares are low.

My grammar is awry, and very English.

for a beginner, i suppose it is fine.
